After not having a "Fall" Season for the last 3 years, we are trying to make the most of it this year!!! So far, the kids have painted their own pumpkins...
This past weekend, a cool front came through so besides pulling out the sweaters, jackets, and sipping our pumpkin spice coffee, we built a fire and roasted marshmallows!!! It was so fun watching how different the kids approached this... Micah just stuck the marshmallow straight into the fire, celebrated when it was "cooked" a.k.a. burnt in less then 30 seconds. And Morgan was more delicate with her marshmallows, standing further from the fire and allowing them to cook longer.
And before roasting marshmallows, Randall stayed true to his roots by hunting with his Dad!!! Such a Guy thing, that I (Liz) will never embrace myself :)
And thanks to our sweet friends from Illinois, we made our traditional "Fall Mix", the perfect combo of sweet and salty.
Recipe: Candy Corn, Peanuts & M&Ms (mix together and enjoy!)
We then spent a day in Waco, TX with my (Liz's) Grandmother and my family. It was fun for the kids as we spent the afternoon at the Baylor Museum, which is very educational, cultural and entertaining! (perfect way to spend a rainy day!)
And as promised from the previous post, we visited our friends again and met Baby June. Such a sweet family and we consider ourselves so blessed to have them as friends.
More posts coming soon... hoping to visit a pumpkin patch in the next week!!!
