"He is not here, but has risen. Remember how He told you, while He was still in Galilee, that The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise." (Luke 24: 6-7)
Resurrection Day started at 5am for our family as we got up, got ready and went to the beach for a sunrise service. A few years back, we attended a sunrise service in the desert, but this year, we celebrated on the beach!
It was beautiful and an experience that we will never forget.
And since we were already at the beach... why not play too?
We are Southerners at Heart... BBQ on Easter...
homemade potato salad, shredded chicken with homemade BBQ sauce and "real" pork links... YUM!
One of the really neat things this year was seeing how excited our kids were to share the meaning of Easter with our neighbor. She is from a different country and does not have the same beliefs as we do. But it sure made a Momma's heart proud, hearing Morgan and Micah share The Truth boldly and without hesitation.
We decorated hard boiled eggs... and this was the 1st time our neighbor girl had ever done this!
Then, we made "Resurrection Rolls" which was so much fun! And tasty too!
The croissant =the tomb
The Marshmallow =J's Body
Melted Butter =Oil
Cinnamon/Sugar =Spices
I shared the story using these food items as the "prop" and we rolled J's body in oil and spices and put it in the tomb. Then we baked them for 10-15 mins and the marshmallow dissolved and J's body was gone. He is risen!
This was a really neat activity for the kids to participate in and it was really cool seeing our neighbor's reaction... Hoping our family can continue to be His Hands, Feet & Mouth to our neighbors!
