Project 365 (week 21)

Did I mention that camping will wear you out? Goodness, I must be getting old... after camping just one night last weekend and loosing some sleep from being cold.. I couldn't get through this week fast enough...or something is going on with my sleeping patterns... who knows? Needless to say, this week kindof dragged on for me. BUT NOT the kids! They always seem to have double the energy that I have (and more).

We had a good week (aside from one tired Momma)! Continued with school as normal, lots of time spent outside (soaking up as much cool weather as possible before the summer heat hits) and even tried out some new recipes... Perhaps feeling tired brought on strange cravings...?  Nonetheless, enjoy the pics!

Day 142: Colored rice... great for fine motor skills

Day 143: Beauties from My Love

Day 144: Craving #1 Girl Scout Cookies (Samoa wannabes)...Tasty for sure!

Day 145: Sometimes, you just need to fry something up!
Craving #2 (fried onion straws)

Day 146: A great day for a run! (and to Run OFF those cravings)

Day 147: Tooth #10! Poor Morgan has just as many spaces as she does teeth!

Day 148: Gorgeous Hair! (result of a french braid)
It takes a LOT of work for us "straight hair" girls to get wavy or curly hair!

Come back next week! Hoping to get more pictures of outside things or more places around our city!
Have a great week! Comments are welcomed!

Project 365 (week 20)

Emotions! Fun! Firsts!

This best describes our week. We had a great week in school and its such a privillege to teach my kids Bible verses, spelling words, math problems, explain why you add an extra "n" to run when writing the word "running", etc.  AND then get to see their reaction/smiles when the light bulb turns on and they get it! One of the Best things about homeschool is the creativity in learning and exploring the lessons as written.

In addition to a great week in school, Morgan asked Jesus into her heart on Monday, February 10, 2014! Definitely the BEST part of our week!

And to top off the week, we went on our first camping trip in the desert. Seriously, we've lived on this side of the world for nearly 5 years and haven't even taken advantage of the camping opportunities? We had a great time in the desert and will definitely camp out again!

Day 134:  What goes up must come down

Day 135: Best Day Ever!

Day 136: Spelling Time

Day 138: Valentine's Cookies with Friends!

Day 139: Sand...EVERYWHERE!

Day 140: Shadows are the coolest, esp when they give you 6ft long legs!

Day 141: Sunrise in the desert... YES Please!

A few Extra Pics.. Just for Fun!

What a fun week we had! Thanks for stopping by! Please leave a message and let Morgan know how proud you are of her!

Project 365 (week 19)

This past week was not as adventurous as last week... Both kids were feeling under the weather with cold-like symptoms and Micah fought an ear infection. So, we stayed at home, rested and took it easy. "Mom-Life" as I call it...

6, almost 7 years ago I became a Mom. It was the biggest blessing and life change that I could have ever imagined. Randall and I went from a couple who had the freedom to come and go whenever we pleased to a new, put together team, we called Parents! 22 months later, we had blessings #2 come along as Micah was born. But by that time, we had gotten the parenting thing down (at least, we had learned to play the "tag you're it" game when teaming up to take care of Morgan). Learning to parent 2 kids at the same time rocked our world! We went from "2-on-1" to "Man-to-Man" as Randall calls it!

Over the last 5 years of being a family of 4, we have lived in 3 countries (aside from The States), lived in 7 different houses for at least 2 months or longer (each) and have traveled to 10 different countries, including The States. During the last 1-1.5 years, I have homeschooled Morgan and recently added Micah to the class.

I went from 9.5 years ago when Randall & I got married, working full-time as a counselor for 5 years, to 2 years as a full-time language student to the last 2.5 years as a stay-at-home mom. Wow! My life, responsibilities and roles have changed and varied. But I wouldn't change a thing about any of it! I love being married to my best friend and best teammate I could ever have. And I love being a Mom to my kids!

Enjoy this week's pics as I tried to capture my "Mom" Life through the lenses...

Day 127:  Breakfast of Champions (requested by 2 little sick kiddos)

Day 128: Mom's choice of treats! Salsa and Chips makes any day brighter!

Day 129: Mom's breakfast... gotta keep the figure in check! I still have my role as a wife :)

Day 130: Artist at work

Day 131: "Gamer" sporting the HPU look

Day 132: ABC's with jewels (preschool)

Day 133: Looking at Mom with silly eyes

BONUS of the week:
The biggest surprise this week was waking up to the sound and sight of rain! It doesn't rain much on our part of the world.. mainly sunshine, blue skies and humidity! So when it rains, we consider it God's blessing over us!

Thank you for staying on this journey with me. I love sharing our life through pictures. Please leave comments as I love hearing from you!

Project 365 (week 18)

This week, I thought I was going to aim for the theme of "places" or architecture in the city. However, I decided that "Things around Dubai" seemed like a better way to describe this week.
We had a great week as we were out and about quite a bit. So it seemed fitting to have my camera with me to capture the things that caught my eye.

Take a look and enjoy the "Things around Dubai"...

Day 120: Gorgeous view at a "new park" we explored

Day 121: The Tallest Building in the World...
you can see it almost anywhere in Dubai

Day 122: Pink in the Pool
(Morgan brought this lovely to me so I decided it needed to be captured before it turned brown)

Day 123: Love this view

Day 124: Looking up has its advantages in the mall

Day 125: Entrance to the Gold Souk

Day 126: Date Palms= provider of our shade

Bonus of the week:
Flowers from my Sweetie

Delish on a plate
(this "Thing around Dubai" was at our house)
I kindof like "staging" food... it gives room for creativity!

Ok! That was our week summed up in 9 pics! Hope you enjoyed Your view into our world for a week! Please leave comments and thoughts... as they are ALWAYS welcomed!
